# The practice

## Raul Kieran Rutnam

Founder · Studio RKR

Raul Kieran Rutnam founded Studio RKR with the belief that thoughtful architecture begins with listening. The practice places clients and the people who use its buildings at the centre of the design process, with attentive service and an understanding of their everyday needs.

Collaboration shapes each project. Working closely with clients, specialist consultants and stakeholders, the studio brings different perspectives and technical knowledge into the design process. Clear communication and careful coordination help carry shared ambitions through to the detail.

Having specialised in digital technology during his studies at The Bartlett, UCL, Raul brings these skills into practice to explore, develop and communicate design ideas, supporting collaboration across the project team.

Rooted in research, Studio RKR explores contemporary uses of traditional materials and techniques. Each proposal responds to its setting and the needs of those it serves, seeking honest, site-specific architecture through considered proportion, material and detail.
